Computer Security is Everyone’s Mission

Computer and Cyber crimes are among the fastest growing crimes in the world. Every week I see a news story about someone being the victim of identity theft or that some company had all their records stolen. Unless everyone becomes aware of some basic computer security concepts and the information security professionals stay on top of their game, the damage will continue to barrage the masses.

SecurePuter is a repository blog of all things computer security. I intend to distribute the benefit of my posts between the layman Home User and my Information Security peers. I’m hoping that complex discussions ensue for mutual professional InfoSec development and the strengthening of enterprise security postures, and that the general computer user will receive insight on protecting their identity by appropriately safeguarding their systems.

My Blog’s mission is three fold:

For Home Users:
- Identify home computer security issues
- Provide expert advice in layman’s terms
- Provide easy to follow computer security tutorials
- Review security related software and hardware
- Answer your submitted questions

For Information Security Professionals:
- Provide a peer’s perspective
- Identify immediate security alerts
- Collaborate ideas and opinions through comments
- Discuss computer security policies
- Review network security related software and hardware
- Debate ideal InfoSec principles
- Assist with end user diplomacy
- A way to stay in touch with the latest technologies
- Professional networking

For Myself:
- My personal archive of notes
- Peer review of my thoughts
- Keeping up to date on computer security relevant issues
- Self education and career development

How bout some humor and life discussion as well!
