I recently created an ITtoolbox Blog in order to contribute to an established network of my peers. I subscribe to a number of information security blogs, and a few authors dual blog with ITtoolbox.com. What a good idea! If they can do it successfully, so can I. Since I’ve been anonymously visiting ITtoolbox for sometime, I felt launching an ITtoolbox blog in parallel with my self hosted one would be an ideal jump into professional collaboration.

So why did I create an ITtoolbox blog?

My mission with both is the same, but the main reason is the community. ITtoolbox will primarily be for more technical discussion, rather than SecurePuter’s focus on all levels of computer security.

One cannot master the art of computer security without the criticisms, opinions, and ideas of others. It is also in a security professional’s best interest to understand the perspective of information technology from all angles. Blogs are a medium of self expression. Combine that with ITtoolbox’s social networking features, and you have a premier location for professional growth.

My intention is to update here on a regular basis and then share with my ITtoolbox friends posts of significance. If I feel a topic has appeal to my more technically minded ITtoolbox brethren, I’ll cross-post an article. If I feel something warrants further exploration and valued discussion…again, I’ll cross-post it. On occasion, I’ll write exclusive posts solely for publishing on ITtoolbox. Don’t fret; I’ll post a reference and link here for those wishing to read it.

My focus will remain on this self hosted blog. I have much more flexibility in the way I provide you with valuable information. There also won’t be a mass of interference with ads and text links that take you all over the place. I’m only involving ITtoolbox to explore more opportunities of reaching out.
